What should I ask before joining a mastermind, and what does worth it even mean?

Ask who else is actually in the room, at what scale, and what specific access or outcome past members can point to. Worth it means a measurable change, not just a better feeling after each call.

Request an honest picture of the current membership: company size, industry, and tenure in the group. A room full of people earlier in their journey than you are will rarely challenge you the way true peers will.

Ask for specifics from existing members, not testimonials curated by the organizer. A real deal referred, a genuine problem solved, an introduction that led somewhere, these are the signals that separate substance from a well-produced sales page.

Be honest about what you're actually looking for. If it's camaraderie and encouragement, many groups deliver that well. If it's real deal flow, introductions, and access you can't get anywhere else, that's a narrower, more specific promise, and not every group is built to keep it.
